I often get asked if we use a detailed homeschool planner or calendar to plan out our year/month/week.

My answer is no, for a lot of reasons, the biggest one being that in a home setting, this often sets us up for:

1) Feeling like a failure if you don’t get everything on the “to do list” done each day.

2) Not having the flexibility built into each day to go down exciting learning rabbit holes, which help our kids learn and retain more while making important connections in the world around them.

We follow a weekly and daily rhythm, which supports our family’s lifestyle and facilitates the goals my children have based on their own personal missions, visions and goals. You can do this, too! It’s so simple.

Watch the video below to see how we implement this weekly and daily rhythm, and how to customize it perfectly for your family.
